Richard Peters Shortlisted for Rozema Teaching Award

What a time for our drama teacher, Mr. Peters! Last Saturday, one of Mr. Peters' Improv Teams won first place in the Canadian Improv Games' Toronto Regionals. Then, late last week, Peters was announced as a finalist in the Arts category of the Rozema Awards for Teaching Excellence! This is an annual awards program from Cardus, a Christian think tank that does a lot of work with education.

In the letter from Dr. Beth Green, Program Director for Cardus Education, she writes, "Being selected for the shortlist is a significant honour. It means that the awarding panel has decided that your practice is an example of excellence in purpose, rigour, and service to our community of Christian schools in Ontario."

As his colleagues, we know the passion and dedication Peters pours into his drama teaching, and his philosophical approach to improv .

He'll find out if he's the final winner at a gala on June 8 at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton (following in the footsteps of TDChristian teacher David Robinson, who won the Rozema Award in the High School category last year).
