Social Justice Block is a two-credit Grade 11 program in which students actively explore a variety of social issues on a personal, community, and global level. Students choose the issues they will study and educate themselves on these issues through research, personal involvement, and creative response. They then determine ways to raise awareness, inspire others to take action, and initiate proactive responses by the classroom, school, and/or larger community. Students utilize a variety of media for their research and response, including video, print, the Internet, and different forms of group presentation: they not only consult documentaries, magazines, and web pages, but produce their own to communicate what they have learned. In this manner, Christian teenagers learn ways to become agents of change in their own lives, in the lives of their communities, and in our world.
The Social Justice Block is not being offered at this time.
